This Saturday, the massively talented folk singer-songwriter Lucy Kaplansky will be performing at the High Noon Saloon. Whether you’re familiar with her ever-growing solo catalog, adore her work in Cry Cry Cry with Dar Williams and Richard Shindell, or are just discovering her for the first time, Lucy’s straight-from-the-heart tunes are sure to move you.

In her song, “When I Get To The Border,” Lucy fantasizes about leaving her troubles behind her. She sings, “Monday morning, Monday morning /Closing in on me/I’m packing up and running away/To where nobody picks on me.”
With this sentiment in mind, pick at least 5 songs that you think everyone should include on a Monday morning playlist and tell us why they never fail to put you in a great mood. As is the Monday tradition here on the blog, we’re giving away a pair of tickets to a lucky reader who responds to our query!
