Just Can’t Get You Outta My Head…

Like so many music fans out there, we at True Endeavors live and breathe music.  We’re constantly in the process of absorbing new tunes and rediscovering old gems.  With all this great music knocking at our eardrums, we’d be fools not to share the best of it with our blog readers.  In this new blog feature, the True Endeavors team will take turns presenting the songs that make up the ever-changing soundtrack of our lives. Shelley’s playlist is up first…

Deer Tick – “Baltimore Blues, No. 1″
This isn’t exactly a brand new band but they’re new to me. I have a soft spot for singers whose voices are anything but. Can’t wait to hear more from these guys.

Pete Doherty – “Arcady”
So much is written about Pete Doherty that has nothing to do with his amazing talent. Forget the drinks, drugs and supermodel girlfriends—just LISTEN!

Iggy Pop – “The Passenger”
This vid has been a favorite for years–it never gets old! It’s powerful, intense, wild and a little funny too. Iggy’s a true rock and roll animal.

The Veils – “The Letter”
These guys are huge internationally, but still act like they have no idea how great they really are. Refreshing to see! I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it.

Johnathan Rice – “The Acrobat”
One of the prettiest songs I’ve heard in a while.

An Horse – “Camp Out”
The lyrics and vulnerable delivery on this one just kills me. The entire album is unforgettable. One of my favorite new bands out there.

Elbow – “Running To Stand Still” (U2 cover)
It’s hard to cover U2 and express the same musical expansiveness that Bono and Co. do so well, but Elbow’s take on this Joshua Tree classic totally outshadows the original. Gorgeous.
