It’s True- Cafe Montmartre Closed

the momo

Although we are not at liberty to release details at this point we can officially confirm that Cafe Montmarte has closed.  The sign on the door cites repairs however there are no current plans for a re-opening.

This is a sad day for the loyal patrons in this city who have spent many a night listening to music, playing music, and sharing warm summer nights over food and drink in this cozy wooden downtown space.

Letter from the owners:

After nearly 17 years of operation, Cafe Montmartre closed its doors
this week.  We tried to hold on, but the current economic conditions
have left us no choice.

We are very grateful for our many loyal customers, clients and vendors.
It’s with tremendous sadness that we’ve made this decision, but we also
feel it’s the right decision given the circumstances.

We will cherish the memories forever.

Thanks,

Craig and Kevin Spaulding

  1. Sad. Sad. Sad.
The best little music hall in town.

  2. I always think it’s sad when a live music venue closes.

However, I can think of a number of reasons why it might have, because I didn’t like a lot of things about it as a place to enjoy seeing music. For parties and lunches, it was quite alright.

Sorry to “speak ill of the dead” but I voiced my concerns to promoters and owners, but still all of the problems remained.
