Kristin Hersh Takes Center Stage In “Rock N Roll Mamas”

Kristin Hersh (of Rhode Island indie rock outfit Throwing Muses) is the subject of a new documentary, Rock N Roll Mamas, alongside Zia McCabe of The Dandy Warhols and hip hop artist Ms.Su’ad.

Filmmaker Jackie Weissman followed the musical mothers over the course of six years, “[watching] the women as they tour and perform, go to play dates, juggle childcare, and get to gigs.”   Mamas has its recent debut at the Portland Women’s Film Festival, and we have our fingers firmly crossed that Madison will get the opportunity to screen the documentary in the near future as well.   Until then, have a taste

Hersh will be in Madison for a solo performance at the High Noon Saloon on Saturday, May 18.  Tickets are still available here, so grab ‘em while you can!
