Michael Benjamin Lerner, the man behind the Seattle-based indie project Telekinesis will be in Madison next Thursday (May 16) for a show at the High Noon Saloon. His most recent release, Dormarion, has been called “one of the most eclectic, fun records of the year,” and “a perky Cure pastiche, a taste of synth-pop and some very Spoon-ish back-and-forth between fuzzed-out, noisy guitars, but the succinct, kinetic rockers are its high points, and leaves you wanting more of them.”
Needless to say, we’re pretty pumped to hear his work performed live and we’d love to share the experience with you. One lucky blog reader will win a pair of tickets to the show. Read on to find out how you can enter!

“The illusion of effortlessness is part of what makes them so cool, and they generate inspiring mega-wattage the way most people barely wake up. There was no need for the comic aggression, transparently defensive displays of wealth, or an authenticity that sounds a lot like sociopathy. They perform from a meaningful place and make it look good. Los Rakas is skill, just skill on a pocket of sunshine.” – Pop Matters
Remember Los Rakas‘ cameo in Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ vid for “Can’t Hold Us”? Well now the Panamanian hip hop duo has a brand new video of their own. “No Tan Listo” made its debut earlier this week, and we’re excited to hear what you think. Let us know in the comments section below.
Los Rakas will open SOJA‘s May 9 Madison concert at the Capitol Theater. Tickets are available here.
