If you fell in love with Polica (along with the rest of Madison!) at the very first FRZN Fest 2 years ago, you’ll be pleased to find that they have just released a new single, featuring another midwestern favorite, Justin Vernon.   The artists shared the stage at Coachella last week and performed the haunting track from their upcoming album for the masses.   So lovely.

Now Streaming: Parquet Courts’ “Light Up Gold”

Light Up Gold, the debut full-length record from NYC rockers Parquet Courts is now available for streaming.  If you’re a fan of bands like Jaill, Iceage, Mazes, and Bass Drum Of Death, then you definitely want to check this out.

Rolling Stone went a bit further and said, “Parquet Courts are especially versed in the clipped, repetitive buzz of Wire’s ’77 classic Pink Flag, but, like Pavement, they soften post-punk’s cranky edge with the glazed, lonely wonderment of fresh, wide-eyed New York transplants.”  We’re sold!   Check out their live KEXP performance below…

Pezzettino may have recently left the humble Midwest for the hippest little borough of NYC (that would be Brookyln), but she shows no signs of forgetting her roots.  Her upcoming release, LubDub, features the production stylings of Milwaukee-based hip hop guru LMNtlyst.  The pairing of urban influence with her own signature brand of quirky indie pop has made for one of the most delightfully unique releases we’ve heard yet this year.  Believe it or not, Pezzettino’s tunes are even sweeter than her new album cover would suggest.  Listen for yourself!

These United States will kick off tonight’s Thao and Mirah show at The High Noon Saloon, and they’ve generously offered a free download from their latest album, What Lasts, to our blog readers as a preview.  If you like what you hear, we hope you’ll be able to make it out to see them perform live later this evening.
