Get ready for yet another week packed with great indie shows from artists who are earning a great deal of attention from the music press..
Pitchfork says that the Ohio-based Heartless Bastards’ lush garage rock makes them “sound like giants tied to the earth.” Deerhunter has been a longtime favorite on the psychedelic/experimental scene. Their latest album, Microcastle, which The Onion’s A.V. Club described as an album of “blazing gold and orange hues, warmly whirring guitar solos, pepped-up drumming, pop hooks, and gauzy echoes of Motown and krautrock,” is sure to send more fans their way. The four New Jersey kids collectively known as Gaslight Anthem are already receiving an overwhelmingly positive response to their rock/punk sound, inspiring road trips from fans across the country to catch their shows. (Check out the I Am Fuel, You Are Friends blog for a mention of their upcoming show at the High Noon Saloon!)
