Get To Know Thao Nguyen

Thao Nguyen

One of my absolute favorite music blogs (besides the fabulous piece of work that you’re reading right now, of course) is Heather Browne’s I Am Fuel, You Are Friends.  Jam-packed with skillful, passionate writing about the artists she loves, Heather’s site has turned me on to countless artists over the years.

One such artist is the fiercely talented, Thao Nguyen, who I was thrilled to see live for the first time back in 2008 (has it been that long already?!) when she came to the High Noon Saloon as part of the Hotel Cafe Tour along with equally awesome ladies like Meiko, Rachael Yamagata, Jaymay, and Alice Russell.

Last summer, Browne posted a characteristically cool interview with Nguyen to her site, as well as a companion piece to Gigbot’s blog, which I’m sharing here in an attempt to make fans out of anyone who still hasn’t discovered her.

Needless to say, I’m looking forward to her return to The High Noon Saloon on June 29th with just about as much excitement as I can handle.  That excitement is only intensified knowing that one of my favorite artists, Mirah, will be sharing the stage with her. Trust me:  you need these ladies in your life.  To hear them, and see them live, is to love them.
