!!!SOLD OUT!!!

The offices at the top of the Capitol Records building in Hollywood are home to some of Southern California’s most awe-inspiring views. Through the circular glass that adorns the iconic edifice, you can see the plush landscapes of some of the world’s most lavish neighborhoods. But look a little farther and you can just as effortlessly peer into the working class streets that birthed gangsta rap.

It’s this dichotomous picture that provides a fitting backdrop for Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus and his new label home high atop the cylindrical landmark. As the Creative Chairman of EMI’s newly reintroduced Priority Records, Snoop will oversee a hefty catalog chock full of gangsta rap anthems (NWA, Eazy E, Master P, Ice Cube) that launched from the streets and infiltrated even the highest suites. The view also bodes well for Snoop’s first order of business in his new post: his upcoming Malice N Wonderland. After all, it’s these two very different worlds that the Doggfather pulls inspiration from for his tenth solo outing. This intersection of “malice” and “wonder” combines for an exciting listen.

“When I started to put together this record I had a lot of malice in my heart—just focusing on making hardcore gangsta music.” explains Snoop. But what’s become quite obvious to his adoring global fan base is that while Snoop stays steeped in the hood realities of his native Eastside Long Beach, he’s continued to evolve. And after delving further into this opus, Snoop knew that he also wanted to make songs that embodied more than just his gangsta. “My mood lightened and I wanted to make some music that just felt good…to me and to the ladies.”

  1. I think Snoop should collaborate with one of the best DJs in the world, TIESTO! With Tiesto’s sweet beats and Snoop’s creative lyrics, they would surely make number 1 hits!

  2. i think snoop should throw down with the temptations or any other of those really ol’ school motown groups and give us a jam just drippin’ with honey.

  3. Tony Bennett. The mix of old and new could be epic!

  4. David Bowie and Snoop would be super legit. it would be a wonderful ‘freaky’ song that would go great with snoops lyrics and would be wonderfully produced!

  5. Nicki Menaj is a must!! &&<3

  6. I’d like to see Snoop do something with Tom Waits. Now that’d really be something, don’t you think? I do.

  7. The cast of glee.

    Or Modonna.

  8. I totally thought this thing would’ve moved to the Alliant Energy Center. Oh well, Snoop’s coming and that’s a great thing no matter what.

Who should Snoop collab with? Hmmmm……
Inara George from The Bird & The Bee was born to provide a great sung hook on a rap song. Greg from TBATB is an incredible producer. I think they’d be great at crafting a unique and memorable single for Snoop.

  9. It would be SWEET if he did something similar to “bitches aint shit” to Andre Nickatina (notably the song Dice of Life…

    “Mike Tyson loves Cus D’amato…”

    • Wow, for some reason I mixed this up with the ben fold’s giveaway and wrote a hybrid answer.
Scratching that one…SNOOP should collab with Fleetwood Mac…yep!

  10. Gangsta Gibbs.

Freddie Gibbs reppin’ the Midwest is one of the up and coming rappers and has brought back true gangster rap. I saw him live at the high noon saloon and was blown away. He drops sick beats, spits like none other, and defines thug. A collaboration with Snoop would be dank to say the least.

  11. Jack White

  12. Tom Waits. Bizzare yet rythmic noises in the background; something somewhere between industrial noises, blues, jazz and psychosis in the background with a gutteral low wail underneath Snoop’s silky tones ….

  13. I could see him changing it up and doin’ something jazzy with lots of horns. A collaboration of Snoop w/Trombone Shorty would be amazin’!

  14. Snoop should do a collaboration with the new rapper J. Cole. Cole-world’s been killin’ it lately and him and Snoop could kill any beat out there!

  15. Hall and Oates.

With Sensual Seduction, Snoop proved that he’s not above the synth…

  16. Snoops gotta collab with XV. He’s comin on stronggg

  17. Anytime and anywhere with Dr. Dre….FTW!

  18. Daft Punk.

  19. I’d like to see him collaborate with Big K.R.I.T. or Curren$y.

  20. As I sit back in the cut and contemplate
with whom snoop dogg should collaborate
the choices are many and plenty u see
so let me first review some of what has come to be

snoop and dre: shiiiit…that’s the beginning of the modern day

snoop and pharell: been there/done that; bad as hell

snoop and tool: I was paloozin in ’97 and that jam waz cool

Eminem: the industry’s slims (Bitch Please) have already incited bedlam

devin the dude: damn! Don’t hardly nobody know and that’s kinda rude

lady of rage: waz bak in the day, and she a dogg pound gangsta all the way

Warren G: the regulator and snoop in 94 waz meant to be

So as I peer into the future, smoke my brain and think
His doggy pound don’t stink and it’d be da bomb to hear:
    SNOOP and P.I.N.K!

  21. Snoop Dogg should collaborate with Kid Cudi. Blend the old with the new. I think they would complement each others style for some sick joints.

  22. I think snoop and lady gaga would be an UNREAL combination. you are taking a rap hip hop ledgend and bringing it with today’s most famous pop star, the one and only sick twisted lady gaga. the song would be so ill that we’d all might get a case of the swine flu !! then if we want to go further with this… add in a little stop by and say hi from jay-z. just by saying snoop, lady, and jay = you got an instant top hit. when you bring in ledgends and go on to the next collaboration, you end up dropping one hit like its hot and got the paparazzzzi going GAGAGAGA!!!

  23. Personally I would like to see snoop collaborate with Michael Jackson (hes coming back don’t worry 2012 <3) hehe and possibly Justin Bieber. The unique styles of their music could create something the world has never seen before haha(: PEACE LOVE SNOOP<3

  24. Taking Snoop, an influential rapper/hiphop artist of our generation and mixing him with david guetta, one of todays most innovative DJs would really generate an amazing track with a fresh sound. Using guettas widely respected beats and drops that attract an international audience, and Snoop’s thoughts and words as lyrics that become embedded and idolized in the thoughts of Americans Teens today, would not only become a successful joint operation, but symbolize how the interdependence of our world today is vital to keeping our world united as a global unit. Letting David Guetta produce a track of this rap genius would open up many options to the music industry today.

  25. I did not mean to use a run on sentence in the post above ^.
    sorry :/

  26. Ever since I was younger snoop has always inspired me to write music. Snoop was blessed with such a beautiful voice they’re many artists on their knees begging to get a chance to work with him. I would like to see him work with Rihanna, Rihanna also has a soft and beautiful voice and I believe If they worked together they would have a chance to spend time at Number one for many weeks in the billboard top 100. I have never seen him before live im hoping this Tuesday I will have a chance too, please help my dreams come true.

  27. Willie Nelson for sure!

  28. I would like to see snoop collaborate with Bruno Mars(:

  29. or I would like to see him pair up with Taylor swift
