Free MP3 Download: Amanda Palmer Covers Nick Cave

Amanda Palmer

This Dresden Doll’s latest release, Amanda Palmer Goes Down Under, features an arresting live cover of Nick Cave’s “The Ship Song.”  The intensity she draws from her fingertips and projects out to her audience is just unreal.  We couldn’t help but share this one. Enjoy!

  1. It’s not a Dresden Dolls release – although one is expected sometime later this year, I think.
This is just Palmer’s unofficial follow-up to 2008’s outstanding Ben Folds-produced “Who Killed Amanda Palmer.”
    Just a heads up!

  2. Also, the link cuts out at :22 in.

  3. Yup, this is a solo Amanda Palmer release. I just meant that she was “a” Dresden Doll 🙂

Thanks for the heads up on the MP3—is anyone else having problems downloading this? It’s playing OK on my end, but I’ll definitely look into it!

  4. Ah! Got it, I think I initially misread – but yeah, it’s still cutting out for me.

The cover’s unbelievable though. I’m always a little hesitant on Nick Cave covers as he’s basically everything I aspire to be/such a huge influence and has a very unique sense of style that’s extremely difficult to duplicate – but Palmer’s a good fit and she knocked it out of the park.

  5. Steve, the link is working for me, is it still bumpy for you? If so, can you tell me what browser you are in? Thanks!
