Radiohead took their name from a Talking Heads song. Would LOVE to see Old 97s again!
Madness took their name from a Prince Buster song.
The band What Made Milwaukee Famous took their name from the Jerry Lee Lewis song What’s Made Milwaukee Famous (Has Made A Loser Out of Me)
Rolling Stones got their name from a Muddy Waters song “Rolling Stone.”
Firehouse took their name from a Kiss song, don’t ask me how I know that…..
Death Cab for Cutie got their name from a Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah song…how random is that?
Bob Dylan got his name from Dylan Thomas. I think Dylan Thomas was a time traveler and got his last name from Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20.
The Rolling Stones…Muddy Waters “Mannish Boy”
Spoon took their name from the German avant garde band Can.
Don’t know if it’s true, but I believe that the Mountain Goats got their name from the Screamin’ Jay Hawkins song called Yellow Coat.
