Southern Culture On The Skids

This Sunday, in honor of the 9th anniversary of one of Madison’s finest live music venues (that would be the High Noon Saloon!), North Carolina natives Southern Culture On The Skids will be performing their dirty, fun, and irresistible, trademark trailer park rock tunes for the revelers.   (Think of a great big cornucopia of surf, pop, rockabilly, country, and blues.)

Come early to enjoy a beer tasting and songwriting contest courtesy of O’So Brewing Co.

  1. My favorite memory was quite a recent one! I went to see Watsky (thanks TE!), and it was an unbelievable show! Easily one of the best MC’s that I’ve seen, and the musicality of his band was inspired. I left that show with my head in the clouds, and couldn’t stop talking about it the next day at work. In fact, I still can’t stop talking about it.

Oh, and I can’t wait to walk like a camel.

  2. I’ll never forget opening night with the Bottle Rockets. Or finally getting to see Scott McCaughey with the Baseball Project last summer. Or the Mystery Girls reunion last week. Here’s to another nine and 90 years for the HNS!

  3. Seeing Rodriguez in 2009, before Searching for Sugarman came out and won an Oscar and really blew up, was pretty magical.

  4. Seen so many great bands there. My favorites are the bluegrass. The infamous string dusters, Pert Near Sandstone, head for the hills. I do love that blue grass 🙂

  5. The Sweetback Sisters about a year and a half ago. Took a chance on bringing the family out to hear a band we’d never heard of and they just blew us away.

  6. Congrats Austin! You’re on the list.
