If you’re into artists like The Drowners, Swim Deep, Outfit, Peace, Fidlar, and Howler, then you’ll love the grungy punk of Manhattan’s Skaters. We’ve been crazy excited ever since they were added to the already exciting Palma Violets show on October 5 (tickets here) and want to make sure our readers are familiar with their punchy sound before they hit the stage in a few months.
The Guardian says, “Like the Beach Boys, who famously didn’t surf (Dennis Wilson excepted), SKATERS don’t skate… [songs] reeking of subways and steam hissing from backstreet vents with a clattering urgency . It’s the end of the world as we know it … and SKATERS feel fine.”
Check out “I Wanna Dance (But I Don’t Know How)” from their recent BBC performance, as well as their official vid for “Armed.” Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
