Madison Concert Ticket Giveaway: Feist

Feist

When thinking of Feist, indie music fans likely recall the joy of the sunny pop hit “1234” or the neo-noir playful hipness of “My Moon My Man,” so her slightly more serious new work may catch listeners by surprise.  The Austin Chronicle remarks that her latest release, Metals, is “darker, more contemplative, heavier, a heady, atomic blend of folk-pop and emotional menace.”  The Los Angeles Times gushes, “What a beautiful record. Truly gorgeous, the kind that wins both hearts and awards–perfect for a dinner party, a drive along Pacific Coast Highway, or a good, healthy cry.” Further, many critics are already touting Metals as one of the finest albums of the year.

What could be better than seeing this stunningly talented and beloved performer live in Madison at the gorgeous Capitol Theater this Sunday night?  Seeing the show for free, of course!  We’re giving away a pair of tickets to one of our lucky blog readers after the jump.  Read on to find out how to enter to win.

Feist’s Darker Side To Shine At The Orpheum Theatre

Feist

Of Feist‘s latest release, Metals, Pitchfork says, “[the album] feels deliberately uninterested in courting pop audiences or crafting easy hooks, which is why it feels like such a refreshing and slyly badass statement of artistic integrity.”  After checking out her video for “The Bad In Each Other,” we have to agree that the Broken Social Scene alum is indeed a master of musical badassery.

Check it out below, and be sure to grab your tickets to her June 3 show at Madison’s Orpheum Theatre ASAP!
