American Radio Welcomes Savages Via KEXP

Savages

The sky is the limit for these emerging post-punk Brits.  SavagesSilence Yourself has been called “a disquietingly brilliant debut,” “brutal, jarringly confrontational, and completely singular,” and ” anarchic, itching punk at its most primal, most belligerent.”  Fans of Joy Division, The Men, Parquet Courts, and Deerhunter: we’re talking to you!

Earlier this month the band made their American radio debut on Seattle’s KEXP, and their electrifying live performance is now available for your viewing pleasure.  Click here to take a peek.  We have chills….how ’bout you?

Expect to see and hear a lot more from these talented ladies.

Download Fool’s Gold Live Studio Session From Seattle’s KEXP

You may remember these guys from the Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros show late last year.  This wickedly fun Afropop indie band recently recorded a live studio session for Seattle’s KEXP for your listening pleasure.  Take a listen here, and check out their sun-soaked video for “Surprise Hotel” below.

(FYI: If you dig Fool’s Gold, you may be interested to know that the band includes several members of the equally impressive Foreign Born, who we’ll be bringing to Madison to play The Frequency on March 4th.  You can grab tickets to that show here.)

Seattle’s way hip KEXP radio station has made the The Swell Season performance from their October VIP Club Concert Series available for download on NPR’s website.  Listen to Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova perform an intimate, stipped down live set of songs including “Falling Slowly,” (the breakout hit from their breakout film, Once) and a gorgeous cover of Tim Buckley’s jazzy folk number,”Buzzin’ Fly.”
