Live Concert Photos: Norah Jones at Overture Hall 3/15/10

The elegant Grammy Award winner Norah Jones played to a sold-out crowd at Overture Hall.  Crowd and critic expectations were high, and those expectations were easily exceeded.  Accompanied by her beautiful voice, Norah played electric and acoustic guitar, keyboard, and piano.  With over 36 million albums sold and counting, it was no surprise that she also played to a standing ovation.

Kid Sister NYE Party To Benefit AIDS Network

TEN, the all-night dance party featuring Kid Sister on December 31st at the Orpheum will donate $1 from every ticket sold to support  AIDS Network.

Established in 1985, AIDS Network provides comprehensive, community-driven HIV/AIDS prevention and care services throughout South Central Wisconsin. This year’s focus is on education and prevention of oral herpes, how to treat them, etc.

Doors open at 9pm. Free champagne toast at midnight, free prizes throughout the evening, and breakfast at 5am.

Tickets $20 adv $25. All ages.

If you weren’t at the Barrymore Saturday night (12/05/09) you missed a phenomenal performance by Colbie Caillat and her guitarist/opener Justin Young.  Smiling constantly she seemed to enjoy herself as much as the fans did.  Colbie’s passion for the music shined through as she led the crowd in sing-alongs and explained lyric meanings.  It proved to be an entertaining kick off to the holiday season as she broke in to Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. This classic recording is part of a Special Olympics’ new CD, A Very Special Christmas 7.

Justin Young  -a fellow Hawaiian- mesmerized the crowd with his self-described “acoustic based, island influenced, soulful, pop music”.
