Tonight’s Set Details: THE DISCO BISCUITS and RAILROAD EARTH 10.29.09

Heads up music lovers!

The Disco Biscuits are playing the Wisconsin Union Theater TONIGHT!

In the years since the band sprang out of the University of Pennsylvania party scene in the mid-’90s, the Disco Biscuits have brought together the worlds of jam bands and electronic music with its “trance-fusion” sound that mixes the free-form improvisations of jazz with the hypnotic rhythms which provided the soundtrack for rave culture.

Doors: 6pm

Orchard Lounge: 7pm

Ott: 8pm

The Disco Biscuits:

Set One: 9 -10:15pm

Set Two: 10:45 – 12:30pm

Warm up your Halloween weekend by checking out this show! Tickets are still available at The Wisconsin Union Theater box office (608-265-2787). See you there!

Also: RAILROAD EARTH is playing The Barrymore!

Railroad Earth is a fun bunch of well-weathered Folk players, and they put on a heck of a show. Lead singer Todd Scheaffer always looks pleased with his bandmates, while mandolin master John Skehan just flat out rips on his instrument; and multi-instrumentalist Andy Goessling nonchalantly commands his beautifully subtle spotlight jams. – Kim Ruehl

Doors: 7pm

Great American Taxi: 8pm

Railroad Earth:

Set One: 9:15 – 10:15pm

Set Two: 10:45 – 12:00pm

Get your groove on and avoid the rain by checking out this show! Tickets are still available at The Barrymore box office (608-241-8633). See you there.

Tonight’s Set Details: YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND 10.22.09

This Colorado-based foursome has crisscrossed the country over the past eleven years playing such varied settings as festivals, rock clubs, Red Rocks Amphitheater in the band’s home state, and recently the Democratic National Convention in Denver at Mile High Stadium opening for Barack Obama. Their loyal fanbase has been built from this diverse setting of music venues as fans latched on to their genre-defying original sound.

You can listen to them here!

Yonder Mountain

“A hootenanny that rocks like crazy; The quartet pull off the melding of diverse musical styles into its own unique sound.” – Times—News (Leighton, PA)

“An evening of inspired music, a deeply musical blend that married rather astounding musicianship to the welcoming tones of R&B and Country.” Buffalo News (Buffalo, NY)

Set Details:

Doors: 7pm
Split Lip Rayfield: 8pm
Yonder Mountain String Band: 9:30pm
