Now Streaming: J Roddy Walston & The Business’ “Heavy Bells”

j roddy walston

J Roddy Walston & The Business return to Madison’s High Noon Saloon on September 11 (tickets here), and we can’t wait to hear these Tennessee natives dirty up the place a bit with their gritty sound.

You can enjoy a preview of that sound with this streaming version of the punchy “Heavy Bells,” off their upcoming Essential Tremors album.   Is anyone else hearing just a hint of Eddie Vedder in those raw screams?

Catch Soul Man Mayer Hawthorne On Leno Tonight

Mayer Hawthorne

It’s baby-makin’ music for a new generation.  Fans of artists like Robin Thicke, John Legend, and Justin Timberlake will want to check out Mayer Hawthorne as he brings his smooth pop/soul sound to Jay Leno’s Tonight Show stage this evening.   Pop Matters declared that his latest release “may go down as one of the year’s most exceptional releases. Where Does This Door Go is as refreshing as a tropical breeze, if not a good cup of joe at your favorite hangout.”

Watch Mayer croon his way through “Her Favorite Song” on The Today Show below, and get tickets to his September 14 Madison performance at the Capitol Theater here.

Astronautalis’ Rescheduled Madison Show + P.O.S. Benefit

True Endeavors had scheduled a silent auction to benefit our friend P.O.S., the Minneapolis-based rapper in need of a kidney transplant, during the Astronautalis show on December 20. The weather did not cooperate, forcing us to reschedule Astronautalis’s show and the silent auction for this Saturday night (January 26) during our FRZN Fest at the High Noon Saloon.

Get your tickets for the Saturday night show (also featuring  KIDS THESE DAYSCHANCE THE RAPPER, and ZEBO) here, and your 4-day festival passes here.
