Kid Sister Lands On Major “Best Of 2009” Lists

Big league music critics and podcasters Jim DeRogatis (Chicago Sun Times) and Greg Kot (Chicago Tribune) have both included Kid Sister’s Ultraviolet as one of their top ten favorite albums of 2009.  (Check out their complete lists here, and listen to their Sound Opinions podcast.)  This is a very big deal!

We’re thrilled to have Kid Sister in Madison as our featured performer for our all-night New Years Eve dance party.  If you haven’t grabbed them yet, get your tickets to the party of the year now!

Well, believe it or not, it’s a rare slow week for us here at True Endeavors.  We’re taking a bit of a break before next week’s highly anticipated BoDeans show at the Barrymore (get tickets here), but there’s still plenty of music to experience in Madison before then.  Here are a few of our recommendations for the days ahead:

Be There: Pezzettino’s Vinyl Release Party At The Project Lodge (12.12.09)

Forgive the Tyra Banks moment, but this girl is FIERCE!  Pezzettino is led by Milwaukee-based songwriter Margaret Stutt who has been a long-time favorite of the True Endeavors crew.  Her wickedly confident indie-folk-pop sounds are as emotionally penetrating and inventive as they are cute and quirky.  We haven’t really heard anyone quite like her before, and we’re always excited about any opportunity to see her perform live.  In addition to her opening up our Gene Ween show on February 11th (get tickets here), Miss Stutt will be performing in Madison this Saturday to celebrate the release of her new single, “You Never Know,” on vinyl.  Read on to get the details and watch her brand new video for the song!

Yup, even more collossal artists have been added to the bill for TEN, our New Year’s all-night dance party.  It’s already promising to be one hell of a show considering F. Stokes, Dirty Disco Kidz and our headliner, Kid Sister are also performing. A free champagne toast at midnight and free breakfast in the morning doesn’t hurt either, and we still have more details to announce in the coming weeks.  Stay tuned.

Get your tickets here.  They’re still available, but they won’t be for long!

Special note:  We are donating $1 per ticket sold to AIDS Network. Ring in the new year by helping out a great cause.
