Known simply as Rodriguez, the Detroit-born psychedelic folk singer had no idea that he even had fans until he was well into 50s. What’s more, his fans were much more than just casual listeners. They were devoted followers half a world away who used his music as a rally cry for revolution and the anthems of the working class. So, what happened?

Musicians sure do love their weed!  Especially, Fabulous, who was recently busted with 500 lbs (!) of the green stuff.  At least the rapper is in good company–check out these other artists who couldn’t quite sneak their vices past the authorities.

Could the current economic crisis actually be beneficial to the music world?  OasisNoel Gallagher seems to think so.  “I hope the financial crisis gets a bit worse – at least we’ll get a few good albums out of it,” he joked.  Way to see the silver lining, Noel!  In other Oasis news, the band’s tour of China has been canceled.  In response to hearing about the band’s pro-Tibet affiliations, the Chinese government revoked the band’s touring license.
