While you’re pondering your answer to our question of the week, consider this gorgeous, mesmerizing new fan-made animated vid for songwriter Willy Mason‘s tune, “Talk Me Down.”

Rolling Stone says, “Equal parts hobo and Holden Caulfield…Willy Mason blends precocious lyricism, spare, jangly guitar, and a world-weary voice that sounds older than his years.”  Fans of Radiohead, Fionn Regan,Villagers, Laura Marling, and Bright Eyes: take note.

We’re hoping Willy will make some time for a Madison stop on his next tour!

Zion I

This week, we’re excited to welcome a number of fantastic artists back to Madison.  Hacienda, A.A. Bondy, and Zion I have all played here in the fairly recent past, and will be returning to the delight of many local music lovers.

In addition to these shows, we are also proud to present an event later this week to benefit the victims of the Haiti disaster.  Say Hey For Haiti is a 6 hour fundraising concert event that will be held at the High Noon Saloon (and simulcast on WORT 89.9 FM) this Saturday, featuring performances by Mash’ Allah Reggae, Roots Collective, and many more.  All contributions–large or small–will make a difference.  100% of the money raised will go to Partners In Health.  We sincerely hope you’ll consider making a much-needed donation to this cause.
